Do you love to travel? If you haven't been there yet, come and discover this little haven of peace that is Sant Feliu de Guixols, a municipality in the province of Girona, in Catalonia, Spain. This municipality holds a special position on the tourist Costa Brava of the Baix Empordá. More than 10,000 inhabitants live here permanently and tourism is only one of the sources of income of the town. Even in the middle of summer, Sant Feliu preserves its independent urban character. Tourists are welcome, but they do not determine the appearance of the town. The reason for this is, on the one hand, the city's past, which recorded its own welfare through shipyards, its own sea consulate and its production of corks (we'll come back to that...). On the other hand, the main beach of Sant Feliu with its fishing boats and the proximity of the port offers a very picturesque image, which is however less suitable for a seaside vacation. Sant Feliu de Guíxols is bordered by green areas and forests and presents many cultural events throughout the year. The surroundings are very contrasting and beautiful, with small bays and a varied landscape. The coastal road from Sant Feliu to the south after Tossa de Mar, already belongs to the region "La Selva" (the forest), which is often mentioned as the most beautiful maritime division in Spain.
